DCET Programs
• ESL (English as a Second Language)

Based upon President Bush's "No Child Left Behind" (Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 2002), English, as a Second Language becomes an important component of DCET's programs.

One of DCET's goals is to help with the literacy challenges facing our youth and their families. Our efforts are to fight against low literacy through assistance and accountability for performance. We believe in Education, we provide literacy services to youth and their families and give emphasis to economically disadvantaged welfare mothers and their children. (As per latest statistics, One-third of Hispanic mothers on welfare are functionally illiterate.)

Our goal is to provide, along with our Literacy courses, positive role models who will create a nurture and stimulating environment, and by doing so, we will provide ways for our students to lead active and satisfying lives. Our students will have a desire to add to their skills levels while acquiring a greater proficiency in the English language.
